i can't believe how quickly she's turned twelve! twelve! my goodness, she's nearly a teenager!

 

i'm so lucky to be an auntie to such a beautiful, caring, and talented young lady.

now...i just have to remind her to ease up on the boy crushes (golly! we really are related).

i think i'm still recovering from 24 hours in vegas - and that was nearly a week ago!
in the meantime i've been back at work - but, today is my friday so i'm looking forward to my weekend!

a birthday

today is my older sister lullette's birthday!

i'm so lucky to have two incredibly loving, caring, hilarious older sisters

and today, we'll celebrate one of them.

the right-handed penmanship on late homework assignments,

the countless baths after play time,

the swimming lessons (which uh...we might need to discuss),

and for tucking me in (and petting me) to sleep every night when i was little.

the best part is, i get to watch you do the exact same things with your two beautiful daughters.

you are an incredible mother and an equally wonderful sister.

i love you more than you can ever imagine and i'm so lucky to be your little sister.

...for hanging out in a hammock on a friday night in santa monica,

quick visits with grandma and grandpa,

learning the importance of being an adult and remembering to pay the gas bill (oops!),

finding the perfect red lipstick,

and cheap bottles of red wine.

who's the man? i'm the man!

i hadn't heard of this film until heather recommended it.

i'm not much of a movie person. in fact, the thought of having to sit still and be silent for over and hour makes me anxious. what can is say...i like to talk!

but, this film was beautiful and i left the theater last night in tears.

but i love her.

and i'm off wednesday (and thursday).

oh you know...just a normal tuesday spent at the beach with the gang...

...that somehow turned into a toga party at heather's.

tuesday afternoon we packed up way too many a bunch of beach bags, towels, beach toys, bottles of wine (oops!), and trader joes snacks and jammed all that stuff and ourselves into my car and drove out to

santa monica. at some point, adam and heather decided we should keep the fun going and have a toga party at heather's place. lots of silly dancing and picture taking took place.

it was a good day.

not gonna lie...i think i have some pretty damn incredible and talented friends.

remember a few months ago i mentioned that i went to see my friend adam perform at the good hurt?

well...he's written a new song that i think is awesome - and i'm anxiously anticipating his next show when i can sing along to it live.

my room might look a little something like this:

feeling under the weather this weekend. it seems like if it's not one thing it's another.

last week it was a toothache - and this week i seem to have been struck with a cold. 

sniffles, stuffy nose, cough and all. 

fun.

maybe i need to stop sleeping with the electric fan blowing directly on my face.

my labor day weekend will be spent working (as do most of my holidays), but not to worry - my weekend will start monday promptly at 11pm!
